# Operational Accountant

AI accounting and automation

FreeMe.bg is building a new kind of accounting service for small businesses.

We believe accounting should not mean endless document entry, Excel files, emails and repetitive manual operations.

We use technology, automation and AI to take over the routine work and leave the accountant with what truly needs professional expertise: **control, judgment and advising the client.**

We are looking for an **operational accountant** who does not just want to work at an accounting firm, but wants to help shape what accounting will look like in the years ahead. The role also suits people at the start of their professional path who want to grow with us.

## What you will do

- Maintain and update the accounting records, chronological and analytical entries
- Prepare purchase and sales VAT ledgers, VAT returns and VIES returns
- Prepare protocols under Art. 117 of the VAT Act (ZDDS)
- Perform bank reconciliations and reconciliations with counterparties
- Process accounts payable and receivable
- Communicate with clients on current accounting and tax matters and help them understand what is really happening in their business
- Review the data that flows through our automated processes
- Work with AI tools for analysis, checks and automation
- Actively help improve the system: if a task repeats every month, we will find a way to automate it

## Who we are looking for

- Degree in economics, preferably in accounting
- Accounting experience is an advantage, but not required
- Knowledge of the VAT Act (ZDDS) and the Accountancy Act, with basic knowledge of the Corporate Income Tax Act (ZKPO) and the Personal Income Tax Act (ZDDFL)
- Able to work independently
- Accurate, responsible and well organised
- Good communication skills and a professional attitude towards clients
- Willingness to learn and develop

But there is one more thing that matters to us.

We are looking for someone who, when they see a repetitive task, does not say:

“That is how we have always done it.”

But asks:

“Why should a human be doing this by hand at all?”

You do not need to be a programmer.

But you should be curious about new technology, AI and automation, and not be afraid to change the way accounting is traditionally done.
