FreeMe reads the transactions, skips duplicates and checks that the opening balance plus the transactions equals the closing balance. Payments are then matched to invoices and expenses, and bank fees and card payments are recognised. Payments with several possible documents are flagged for a decision. You accept the suggestions and only one transaction is left waiting for you. What you get ## Answers your bank account doesn't give on its own A bank account is full of transactions. Here each one gets a document or an explanation. Did my client pay me?The receipt is linked to the invoice, which is marked as paid. Has the supplier invoice been paid?You see which documents are covered by payments and which are not. What is this transaction on my account?Every transaction has a document, an explanation, or is waiting for you. Am I missing a statement for some month?Bank shows which months have a statement uploaded and which are missing. What do I do with a payment without an invoice?You explain it: salaries, taxes, personal transfers. Your accountant books it. Does the balance match the bank?The balance check warns you if the file is incomplete or unreadable. How it works ## From file to matched payments in 4 steps Everything is in the Bank section. You don't need a connection to your bank. ### Upload the statement Click Upload statement and choose the file. The account is detected by IBAN, or you pick it manually. ### FreeMe reads and checks It reads the transactions, skips ones already uploaded and checks the opening and closing balance. If something couldn't be read, it shows you. ### Payments are matched First with clear rules: an invoice number in the reference plus an exact amount, bank fees, card payments. For unclear ones, AI suggests from a list of your own documents. ### You decide on the suggestions In Bank you click Accept suggestion, link a document or explain the payment. Exact matches can be accepted in one go. Control ## Who decides what Matching speeds up the work, but the decision to book stays with a person. ### The system suggests Rules and AI suggest a link to a document. Each suggestion shows where it comes from: a rule, or AI with a confidence percentage. ### You or your accountant confirm Confirming and booking are separate actions. If you send a transaction back for review, it reappears in the list. ### AI picks only from your documents For each unclear transaction AI gets a short list of your documents and cannot name any other. ### No duplicates If you upload the same file or an overlapping period, repeated transactions are skipped. ### Balance check If the opening balance plus transactions doesn't equal the closing balance, you see a warning and which rows didn't make it in. ### File only, no bank connection We don't connect to your online banking and never see your login. We work only with the file you upload. Euro accounts are supported for now. Questions ## Frequently asked questions about bank matching ### Does FreeMe connect directly to my bank? No. You upload a statement in CSV, TXT or PDF format exported from your online banking. There is no live connection to your account. ### Which banks are supported? You upload the file from your online banking. DSK Bank statements have a built-in reader, and other banks' formats are read with AI. If something can't be read you see it as a problem and can upload a clearer file. ### Are payments matched completely automatically? Clear cases are matched without you choosing, but confirming is a step for a person. Unclear ones are flagged with a reason, for example several possible documents. ### What happens to a payment without an invoice? You explain it with a reason: salary, taxes, transfer between own accounts, loan and so on. Your accountant books it, or you upload the document later. ### What if I upload the same file twice? Transactions already uploaded are skipped and only new ones are added. You see how many are new and how many were duplicates. ### Does it work with accounts in other currencies? Only euro accounts are supported at the moment. ### Where do I see which invoices are paid? In Payment check you see for each document whether it is paid, partly paid or unpaid.
