Financial reports, live: are you profitable, do you have cash?
Balance sheet, income statement and cash flow for any period you pick. They are built from the posted entries, so you read numbers, not accountant-speak.
- Pick a period and a comparison
- Every figure traces to the entries
- Excel, PDF or CSV
A short demo: in "Accounting reports" you pick a year, a period and a comparison; the income statement builds line by line and shows the profit for the period; you switch to the balance sheet, where assets equal liabilities; then the cash flow with receipts, payments and net; finally you download the report as Excel, PDF or CSV. The data is sample data.
Any period you pick
Year, from month, to month. The balance sheet is as of month-end.
Comparison
Against the same period last year, or the end of the previous year.
From figure to entry
Open the account in the general ledger and see the postings.
Download
Excel, PDF or CSV of the exact report you are looking at.
The three reports you actually read
Each answers one question. The rest is for your accountant.
Profit or loss for the period
What you sold, what you spent on people, services and materials, and what is left.
A snapshot of the company at a date
On one side: cash, receivables, assets. On the other: equity and liabilities. The two sides must match.
Receipts and payments
Profitable on paper but no cash in the bank? This shows why: what really came in and went out.
- Trial balance
- General ledger
- Receivables
- Payables
- Journal
The same section also has a trial balance, a general ledger, receivables and payables by due date, and a journal of entries.
The questions the reports answer
From picking a period to a file for the bank
It is all in the "Accounting reports" section of FreeMe.
Open the reports
In the menu pick Accounting reports and the report you need.
Pick the period
Year, From month and To month. For the balance sheet: As of end of month.
Compare and explore
Pick a Comparison, hide zero lines, or open an account with Open in the general ledger.
Download
With the Excel, PDF or CSV buttons you get the same report as a file.
You read, the accountant posts
The reports are only as current as the posted entries behind them.
Built from the entries
The report is calculated from posted entries, not typed in by hand.
Read-only
As the owner you view and download the reports. Posting stays with the accountant.
The file matches the screen
Downloading re-runs the report with the same settings, so the file never disagrees with the books.
Warnings, not silence
If something is off, such as an unbalanced balance sheet or an unmapped account, the report shows a note.
