VAT & tax filings

We do not calculate your VAT. We file it.

Any accounting software can calculate a VAT return. The difference is who files it with the tax authority and who stands behind it. With us: a real accountant, on your behalf, every month.

1
You

Your month runs as usual

You issue invoices and snap expenses, and we book them as you go. No end-of-month document scramble.

2
We

We assemble the return

Purchase and sales ledgers, the monthly VAT return, VIES for EU clients. Everything is compiled automatically from what is already booked.

3
You

You approve with one click

You see clearly how much VAT you owe or reclaim, and why. One click and the return goes to us for review.

4
We

An accountant reviews and files

A certified accountant checks everything and files with the tax authority using a qualified electronic signature. You need neither a signature nor an NRA portal account.

5
We

You know what to pay and when

You get a filing confirmation, the exact amount and the payment deadline. We remind you before it becomes urgent.

The difference

Why is this the turning point?

The accounting tools on the market are not bad. But they stop exactly where the real burden begins: filing with the authorities stays with you, or with an accountant you still have to hire. FreeMe.bg closes the whole loop:

  • Software does the math, a human reviews and files. Every month
  • You need no e-signature and no tax portal account
  • The monthly deadline is our worry, not yours
  • We stand behind every filed declaration with our name

Software + accountant + filing = one whole. That is what we mean by a turnkey service.

What we file for you

  • The monthly VAT return
  • Purchase and sales VAT ledgers
  • VIES declarations for EU transactions
  • The annual tax return
  • No-activity declarations for dormant companies, when due

Never again

  • Guessing which deadline falls when
  • Carrying binders to the accountant's office
  • “Send me your invoices urgently” emails
  • Fear of fines for a missed deadline

A deadline missed through our fault? We cover the fine up to €1,000 per case, provided we received the complete data and the power of attorney on time. The details are in the terms (section 8).

Questions about VAT and tax returns

Who files my VAT return?

A certified accountant from the FreeMe.bg team, on your behalf, under a power of attorney and with a qualified electronic signature. The software assembles the return from what is already booked, you approve it with one click, and the accountant checks it and files it with the NRA. You get a confirmation, the amount and the payment deadline.

Do I need a qualified electronic signature (КЕП) to file?

No. You need neither a qualified electronic signature nor an account on the NRA portal. The accountant files with their own signature, under the power of attorney you give us at the start. Your part is to keep the power of attorney valid and approve the returns in the app.

When is the VAT return due?

By the 14th of every month, if the company is VAT-registered. It has to be filed even when it is zero. With FreeMe.bg the deadline is our worry: we remind you before it becomes urgent and tell you the exact amount and payment deadline.

When do I have to register for VAT?

It is mandatory once taxable turnover for the calendar year exceeds €51,130 (Art. 96 of the VAT Act). You apply to the NRA within 7 days of crossing it. Special grounds, such as Art. 97a, can require registration much earlier, for example with EU clients or suppliers. Voluntary registration is possible at any time.

What do I have to do each month?

Issue your invoices, snap your expenses and give us complete and accurate documents for the month by the 5th of the following month. When the return is ready, you approve it with one click. A document received after the cut-off goes into the next period, so uploading as you go is easiest.

Which returns do you file for me?

The monthly VAT return, the purchase and sales VAT ledgers, the VIES declaration for EU transactions and the annual tax return. For dormant companies we file a no-activity declaration when it is due. Which of these your subscription covers depends on your plan.
