What FreeMe.bg Is and Is Not

1. FreeMe.bg is a company with accountants, plus an app

FreeMe.bg is not just software. “FreeMe” OOD (FreeMe.bg) provides accounting services: our certified accountants keep your books and file your returns with the NRA (the Bulgarian tax authority) under a power of attorney, with a qualified electronic signature. The app at app.freeme.bg is how you work with us - you upload documents, issue invoices, see your numbers and write to the accountants in the chat.

An accountant reviews all incoming documents and their correct booking, and the monthly VAT returns are checked and signed by an accountant before they are filed.

This page explains in plain words how far our service goes. It does not change the Terms and Conditions - if the two differ, the Terms prevail.

2. What we do

• Ongoing bookkeeping. We keep your company’s books. Every document is checked by an accountant; artificial intelligence only helps (see section 5).
• VAT. The monthly VAT returns, purchase and sales ledgers, VIES declarations and help with VAT refunds (where the statutory conditions are met and there is a right to input-tax deduction; registration solely under Art. 97a does not give that right) are part of the plans with VAT; on “Business”, VAT is ordered as an extra service. We file them, and you approve.
• Social insurance and payroll. The social insurance of one working owner (self-insured or on a management contract) is included in every plan. For employees and people on civil contracts there is the Payroll module: we calculate the pay, issue the payslips and file declarations form 1 and 6 and the NRA notifications. It is an add-on priced per person, which we switch on at your request (see Payroll).
• Annual closing. We prepare the annual financial statements, the annual tax return and the NSI report, and we publish the financial statements in the Commercial Register. For “Dormant company” we file the mandatory declarations and actions for a company with no activity.
• We represent you before the NRA under the power of attorney. We file on your behalf, signed by a qualified accountant with a qualified electronic signature - you need neither a signature nor an account on the NRA portal. In a tax audit you can engage one of our experts to represent you.

What each plan includes and how many documents a month it covers is described in the pricing section and in the Terms. Whatever is not in the plan is ordered separately.

3. What we do not do

• Employment paperwork and payments. We do not draft job descriptions, internal rules or orders, and we do not pay salaries or contributions on your behalf: we calculate them and tell you how much to pay and to whom.
• Legal advice. We do not give legal advice. For contracts, partners and specific legal questions we work with a partner law firm - the consultation is booked with a clear price up front (see An expert when you need one).
• Independent financial audit. We do not carry out audits and we do not verify that your transactions and documents are genuine. If you need an audit, a registered auditor does it.
• Tax structuring and planning. We prepare the returns and reports under your plan. Individual tax advice beyond them - for example structuring a larger deal or tax planning as you grow - is a paid consultation with an accountant (see An expert when you need one).
• A guaranteed tax outcome. We do not guarantee the tax outcome of transactions you choose.

4. What you do

• Payroll data. If you use the Payroll module, you tell us about a new hire at least 2 working days before their first working day and enter the month’s absences by the 5th of the following month (details in the Terms).
• Documents on time. You give us complete and true documents and data for each month by the 5th of the following month. A document received after the cut-off goes into processing for the next period. You are responsible for their accuracy and completeness.
• All accounts and all transactions. You tell us about all of the company’s accounts - abroad too, and in Wise, Revolut, PayPal, Stripe and the like - within 7 days of opening them, and give us their statements for the whole month without gaps, together with cash payments, all invoices, contracts and loans. What you do not give us, we cannot book.
• Completeness declaration. Before the annual closing, the manager confirms in the app that you have given us everything. Without it we do not sign the annual financial statements. If it later turns out that something was missing, the corrections, interest and fines are yours, and the work on them is charged extra.
• Approvals and answers. You approve where we ask (for example a return before we file it) and answer our questions within a reasonable time.
• Power of attorney. You provide and maintain a valid power of attorney before the NRA, under which we file on the company’s behalf.
• Account. You keep secure the account you use to sign in to the app - your Google account or the mailbox that receives your sign-in code.

5. How we use artificial intelligence

We use artificial intelligence to work faster: it reads uploaded documents and suggests bookings, and the FreeMe AI assistant answers questions about your data in the app.

• An accountant reviews all incoming documents and their correct booking, and the monthly VAT returns are checked and signed by an accountant before they are filed. The AI suggests, the accountant checks.
• Artificial intelligence never files anything with the authorities - an accountant files the returns.
• Your data is not used to train models.

6. Prices and VAT

All FreeMe.bg prices are without VAT. 20% VAT is added on top.

Your subscription is by plan. The Payroll module is charged per person per month. Extra services outside the plan (for example consultations) are charged separately, at their price at the time of the order - see the Terms and the pricing section.

7. What we mean when we say “FreeMe.bg”

When the site, the app or the Terms say “FreeMe.bg” or “we”, we mean the company “FreeMe” OOD (FreeMe.bg) and its team - the accountants and our other colleagues, not just the software. The app is the tool; the company provides the service to you, and the contract is between you and the company (see the Terms).
